Dark and rich loose leaf shou puerh from a family business named Gu Jun Xiang, from whom we've previously had the popular 2011 Banuo "Simple Farmer" shou puerh. Mr. Wang likes to be jokingly called as just a simple farmer, thus the name of the tea. We managed to procure a few kilos of another tea produced by him, harvested a bit further north about an hours drive away in the now famous Bingdao area by a tea farmer friend. Compared to todays's Bingdao standards, the tea is very simple. It's fully fermented and full-bodied with medium sized leaves and a few twigs, reminescent of burnt sugar, molasses and cacao. It's hearty and friendly.

Brewing suggestions: 5 grams of tea per 200ml of 100C water, rinse the tea, 1st steeping 1-2min, 2nd steeping 1-2min, 3rd steeping 2-3min etc.
