These small 100 gram ripe puerh cakes were commissioned as a private order - the leaves were harvested in Spring 2005 on outskirts of Banpen village in Hekai, Menghai county. At the time, Banpen was a very remote area with poor dirt roads, located some 3km away from the now famous Lao Banzhang village. Small leaves and buds were selected for this tea cake. The tea exhibits a Nuo Xiang, Sticky Rice Fragrance flavour profile - it's an interesting flavour that is less sweet and less bitter, with medium thick body. The taste is clean, there are no off flavours. It's not as intrusive as the neighboring Ban Zhang tea, in a way there's more "space" in the tea, which we really enjoy.

Brewing suggestions: 5 grams of tea per 200ml of 100C water. Rinse the tea, 1st steeping 1min, 2nd steeping 1min, 3rd steeping 2min etc.
